Hello.
I was a third-culture kid who grew up wandering around the world thanks to aviator parents, so my accent sounds like something out of a United Nations blender, and changes depending on who I’m speaking to. I fell into art and design very early in my childhood, and find it as much fun to do now. Although I spend most of my time writing at the moment - I still don’t know how that happened, especially because I love type design more than any art form.
I like to mountain-bike, and this is where I get to give you a metaphor for how that applies to my work: mountain-biking disciplines you to keep your eye on the path far ahead, and to find your line. I love to play cricket too, and everything in that sport is a metaphor for life, including the fact that cricket is so complicated, I’m still learning the rules after playing it for 35 years.
San Francisco has been my home - mainly because I’ve spent more time there than anywhere (and also because, well, it’s SF). But I’m loving living in Dubai, where I’m fortunate to work with the best creative team in the world. A team without which we wouldn’t have won all this stuff from Cannes Grand Prix to Yellow Pencil to One Show Grand Prix to Gold Clios to Effie Grands and several other big names as such.
I once couldn’t decide what I wanted my tattoo to say, so I opted for “Lorem Ipsum.” But I did decide on the font very quickly.
